frequently asked questions
When do I need a plumbing permit?
Any work that results in the alteration or disassembly of existing drain, waste, vent and water distribution piping would require a permit or any work that involves the alteration of a plumbing fixture. Exception: Drain cleaning, repair or replacement of faucets and toilets.
Can I do the plumbing work myself?
A homeowner can apply for the permit and do the work themselves on the home that they currently occupy or are about to occupy (new construction). Commercial, industrial, apartments and rental units will require and electrical contractor to apply for the permit and do the work.
