The permit applicant shall determine the method used to achieve compliance with the provisions of the Code at the time of application for permit. Compliance for detached 1- and 2- family dwellings shall be demonstrated by ONE of the following:
- Meeting the requirements of the Code.
- Doors and windows fenestration MAXIMUM 15% -- Comply with TABLE N1102.1, complete Prescriptive Compliance Approach Worksheet.
OR
- If fenestration is OVER 15% -- Use Analysis Comparison Report N1107.1.
- Meeting the requirements of the International Energy Conservation Code for detached 1- and 2- family dwellings. Follow this link -- REScheck Software
- Meeting the design, construction and certification requirements under the US EPA Energy Star Homes Program. Follow this link -- Energy Star Home
- Meeting the design and construction requirements in conformance with the national Home Energy Rating System (HERS) guidelines with a score of 83 or better.
