Northern Lakes Economic Alliance
The Northern Lakes Economic Alliance is a non-profit economic and community development group working for Cheboygan County. Their web site, www.northernlakes.net contains a great deal of information under a tab entitled Services for Small Business. This section includes links to resources including research databases, startup lists, local and state business resource organizations. The NLEA in partnership with the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center (MI-SBTDC) provide a wide array of counseling services, classes and business planning assistance to people interested in starting a successful business or to those already in business. Brian Braddock and Wendy Wieland are business councilors on staff at the NLEA.
NLEA business councilors are available through the Cheboygan Area Chamber of Commerce on the third Wednesday of each month and through the Indian River Chamber of Commerce on the first Wednesday of each month on a prearranged basis. You can contact the Cheboygan Area Chamber of Commerce at 231-627-7183 and the Indian River Chamber of Commerce at 231-238-9325. They will be happy to help you.
