School Liaison Division
The school liaison program was started in the Cheboygan County Sheriff's Department in 1995. Deputy St.Pierre's duties include but are not limited to; truancy violation enforcement, enforcement of laws that are designed for the protection and well being of juveniles/students, security patrols of the three school districts in Cheboygan County, D.A.R.E. instructor for 5th and 10th grade students, liaison between schools, police agencies, the Family Independency Agency, Community Mental Health, Probate Court and the Prosecutor's Office, and safety instructor for the Eddie Eagle gun safety program, bicycle safety, Halloween safety, and snowmobile safety.
Deputy St.Pierre has personal contact with up to 800 students annually. The position continuously strives to improve police relations between school officials, the student body and the community.
