The Straits Regional Ride (SRR) is a multi-county bus system connecting communities in Cheboygan, Emmet and Presque Isle Counties. Bus stops are located in communities along the many routes and several of the buses accommodate the transport of bicycles.
The SRR buses run flexible routes with selected stops for your convenience in many communities along each route. Because routes are subject to change, it is important that you call 24 hours in advance to find out times and locations of a bus stop in your community.
The SRR is reliable and affordable. Please contact a dispatcher for assistance.
Route availability has been impacted by COVID-19. For Route Schedules and information call SRR dispatch Monday through Friday 6:00 am - 5:00 pm
231-597-9262 or 231-597-0175
Toll Free: 1-866-731-1204
Please Note that Routes Are Limited When Schools Are Closed. Please Call For Information.
Schedules & Fares
Schedules: The SRR currently operates five days a week, Monday through Friday. Buses run flexible routes according to demand. Routes have been impacted by COVID-19. Please call 24 hours in advance to find out times and locations of routes in your community.
Fares: Please bring the exact change. Drivers do not carry change.
Planning Your Trip
When you consider using the SRR for your transportation needs, it is important to understand schedules and routes in your area. The SRR buses may make several stops en route, so plan a slightly longer ride than you would expect by car. Again, call the dispatcher for assistance when planning your trip.
The bus may arrive 10 minutes before or after your scheduled pick-up time. Please look for the bus and be ready; we want to get you there on time. If drivers don't see you, they will wait for three minutes past the scheduled pick-up time and then proceed.
“No-Show” Policy: If your plans change, please call us to cancel. The SRR tracks “No-Shows” and will charge you a “No-Show” fare on the next trip.
SRR buses are equipped to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers. Please let dispatch know if you have special needs.
Straits Regional Ride Cares for Kids
Families, daycare, churches, schools and youth groups have found the SRR to be safe and reliable transportation for pre-school and school-aged children. All SRR vehicles are equipped with seat belts and children are required to use them at all times for their safety.
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin in programs and activities receiving Federal financial assistance. Straits Regional Ride is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in, or denied the benefits of its transit services on the basis of race, color, or national origin, as protected by Title VI in Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Circular 4702.1.B. If you feel you are being denied participation in or being denied benefits of the transit services provided by Straits Regional Ride, or otherwise being discriminated against because of your race, color, national origin, gender, age, or disability, you may contact our office at Straits Regional Ride 1520 Levering Rd.
