SBA Disaster Relief Loans

The U.S. Small Business Administration has provided the attached information to households who may have experienced property damage or financial hardship from the severe storms, tornadoes, and flooding that affected Michigan from April 10–21, 2026.

Assistance may be used to repair or replace a primary residence, personal property—including vehicles—or disaster-damaged business property, inventory, machinery, and equipment. Key information:

  • Interest rates are as low as 2.875% for homeowners and renters, 4% for businesses, and 3.625% for private nonprofit organizations, with loan terms of up to 30 years.
  • Homeowners may apply for up to $500,000 to repair or replace a primary residence. Homeowners and renters may apply for up to $100,000 to repair or replace personal property.
  • The application deadline for physical property damage is August 31, 2026.
  • The application deadline for economic injury assistance is March 30, 2027.

Potential applicants should review the attached fact sheet to confirm that their county is included in the disaster declaration and to understand the applicable eligibility requirements.
