Join the Cheboygan County Opioid Settlement Steering Committee (OSSC)

Cheboygan County is seeking community members to join the Opioid Settlement Steering Committee (OSSC). The committee will play a key role in guiding the distribution of opioid settlement funds to ensure these resources are used effectively to address the opioid crisis in our community.

The OSSC’s role is to help develop goals and objectives and provide recommendations to the Board of Commissioners on how opioid settlement funds should be allocated. This includes reviewing evidence-based analysis of opioid use and effective remediation strategies, setting program goals and objectives and prioritizing programs focused on care, treatment, prevention, and services to mitigate the opioid crisis.

The OSSC will meet regularly, with at least four meetings per year, to review evidence-based analysis information, develop goals and objectives, make funding recommendations, and monitor program outcomes. Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed.
